MARYSVILLE, Wash.-- Marysville Pilchuck High School was forced to evacuate the campus following a bomb threat Wednesday afternoon.
The main office received a call at 1:45 p.m. from an automated voice claiming a bomb was hidden on campus. A school district notice stated they evacuated staff and students "out of an abundance of caution".
Marysville police completed an initial sweep of the school. Although explosives were not found, law enforcement planned to undergo a more thorough search pending the arrival of the K-9 Bomb Detection Squad.
Students were evacuated to Shoultes Christian Assembly Church on 51st ave NE/116th St N, where students were able to catch a bus home or have a parent pick them up.
Police requested student vehicles be left on campus until the scene has been released.
Just over two months have passed since the fatal shooting that took place in the high school's cafeteria, claiming the lives of the shooter and four victims.
